For the second time in the past three weeks, Miami HEAT guard Dwyane Wade was named the NBA's Eastern Conference Player of the Week. Wade was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week and Dallas forward Dirk Nowitzki was named the Western Conference Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 7, 2008. This marks the 22nd time in franchise history a HEAT player has earned Player of the Week honors and marks a franchise-record ninth time Wade has received the accolades. He captured the award earlier this season for the week ending Nov. 23, 2008.
